Julie Willoughby is closely aligned with expelled former Rep. Liz Harris, who pushed unfounded right-wing conspiracy theories

•  In May 2023, Willoughby was appointed to replace Harris, who had been expelled by the legislature for inviting a woman who made unfounded criminal allegations against legislators at a hearing, then lying about it to the House Ethics Committee. 
• Willoughby and Harris ran as a ticket in the 2022 election. Willoughby has refused to say that the 2020 election in Maricopa County was safe and secure.
